Warehousing

A National Company with a “Single Point of Contact”

Xeon Logistics provides national warehousing and distribution services and is strategically situated, close to all sea and airport facilities, in each of the major regions of South Africa, including Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, and Cape Town. Our countrywide presence allows us to manage our customers’ national warehousing requirements in a seamless and cost effective manner - providing customers with “one-point of call” from our centralized control centre in Johannesburg, which can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

Under Bond and Free Store Warehousing

Xeon Logistics offers value-added supply chain services such as under-bond storage for dutiable goods and manages all necessary customs according to regulations on behalf of customers during the period of storage.

Inventory management

Our warehouse and distribution centre management service offering includes inventory management. We manage inventory in dedicated-onsite warehouses and in off-site customer warehouses. In the process of inventory management, we work closely with our customer. Our SAP system is operated so as to identify inventory requirements, set targets, trigger replenishment and reporting actual data. Xeon Logistics also handles all functions related to the tracking and management of goods, including the monitoring of goods moved into and out of stock and staging areas and the reconciling of inventory balances.

Replenishment processing

Replenishment processing ensures that forward pick areas are stocked with appropriate goods quantities to support picking requirements. At Xeon we manage replenishment using strategies based on minimum and maximum stock levels, demand based stock requirements, and exception-based replenishment strategies.

FCL and LCL unloading

Xeon provides Full Container Load (FCL) unpacking services as well as Less than a Container Load (LCL) unpack services. Xeon Logistics receives cargo in bulk and offers break bulk and distribution services to various locations in South Africa. Likewise, we consolidate cargo until the complete shipment is ready for containerization and shipment.

Cross Docking

Xeon’s cross-docking service is used particularly at the major ports where food and medicinal cargo needs to be unpacked for the Port Health Authorities. In addition, cross docking offers the benefit of reduced cost by optimizing truck carrying capacity when transporting cargo inland. Cross docking offers the benefit of obviating unnecessary more-expensive inland container turn-in fees.

Temperature-controlled and ambient warehousing

Xeon Logistics provides controlled, multi-temperature, cost effective warehousing services to meet the stringent cold chain and food safety standards of the FMCG market.

Reverse logistics

Reverse logistics involves the recovery of goods from point of sale, for example retail stores, back to the warehouse. This service has been developed to offer an inclusive end-to-end supply chain solution, particularly, to the retail market vertical, where there is a need to collect and verify returned faulty goods prior to our customers providing financial credit to their customer.
